Employee Assistance Program, Safety Boot Reimbursement

Position Overview:

EH&S Specialist will perform job hazard recognition, auditing and inspections. Aid in MSHA, OSHA, DOT, EPA and all other local, state, and federal government inspections, and audits under the direction of the EH&S Manager. The specialist will ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal agencies. The specialist will also assist in developing and implementing all DOT trucking requirements. This position is also responsible for the proper processing of incident, accident and environmental reports. Manage and conducting all industrial hygiene monitoring, including but not limited to repairable dust, noise exposure, and clean equipment cab's initiatives and maintain all test equipment. You must be able to create and supply and submit data reports from internet programs or Excel in regards to EPA, MSHA,OSHA,DOT and any other required local, state, or federal agencies. Create SOP implementation compile analyze and interpret statistical data related to environmental, occupational illness and accidents. Conduct and coordinate EH&S training in all company areas to site specific regulations, safety laws, environmental laws, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment. Inspect all facilities, machinery, buildings ,and safety equipment and correct potential hazards, and ensure safety and environmental compliance. Conduct testing of air quality, noise, temperature, radon levels and water samples of all storm water outfalls as directed by individual permit requirements. Interpret Environmental and Safety regulations for other interested, in environmental and safety compliance. Investigate accidents, injuries, occupational diseases, and all environmental noncompliances. Determine causes and report all findings from all investigations to the EH&S Manager. Under the direction of the EH&S Manager, review all safety and environmental policies and determine their adequacy. Assist in the revision of

environmental and safety regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate all aspects of sustainable programs under the direction of EH&S Manager.
  • Improve EHS and workplace performance by promoting an incident-free workplace, identifying and mitigating EHS risk, and implementing safety and environmental management systems in accordance with regulations corporate compliance policies and good work standards.
  • Determine and direct necessary environmental and safety training for employees and ensure compliance and understanding

Essential Job Functions (continued)

  • Guide and direct assigned work groups toward compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Facilitate and engage divisional groups team members to drive projects that will lead to reductions in accidents, energy, water usage and waste minimization
  • Ensure timely submittal of required federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulatory reports
  • Participate and lead in Safety Committees, meetings as appropriate for each divisional group
  • Conduct inspections and audits throughout the entire RW Sidley, JP Jenks, and Parking Structure sites to identify existing or potential hazards and determine corrective or preventive measures
  • Perform incident investigations and practical problem solving
  • Develop abatements for OSHA,MSHA and EPA findings and present and negotiate any reductions in findings and monetary fines
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of federal OSHA,MSHA, and EPA regulations
  • Facilitate EHS suggestions and manage near miss program.
  • Conduct JSAs (safety risk assessments) Aspect / Impact Analysis (environmental risk assessments)
  • Coordinate environmental waste disposal; maintain waist manifest records
  • Manage First Response Team and Exposure Control Plan
  • Clean water act compliance and SPEDS and NPEDS requirements;
  • SARA Title III and TIER II and form R reporting
  • DOT, DHS and MARSEC Security planning and program development
  • EPA permit application for PTI,PTO and Storm Water and SWPP submittals
  • All EDMr Submittals.
  • Additional duties as needed



  • High School diploma or equivalent required. College preferred, but not required. Bachelor's degree or higher engineering or a scientific field from a accredited college or university.
  • 2+years of experience conducting EPA, OSHA, MSHA, DOT regulatory compliance audits/assessments (or closely related experience)
