We are seeking at R.W. Sidley an Assistant Plant Manager for our Ashtabula, OH plant location.  This location handles aggregates, building supplies, masonry & retaining wall products.  This is a PART-TIME position responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in day-to-day operations of the plant, helping customers, maintaining building supply store and in charge in the absence of the Plant Manager (PM).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist customers and other plants in selection, purchase and if required, delivery of all RWS product lines either in store or over the phone.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels and reordering of products.
  • Participate in store activities of stocking, processing incoming and outgoing product shipments.
  • Assist with motivating/managing staff to ensure employee relations issues are handled appropriately in the absence of the PM.
  • Maintain a clean, visually appealing store (interior and exterior) to company Cleaning Guidelines.
  • Create a store environment that ensures great customer service.
  • Work with PM to successfully resolve all customer complaints.
  • Assist with annual physical inventories.
  • Maintain accurate inventory results throughout the year.
  • Assist with the scheduling and dispatch of RWS trucks for customer and interplant orders.
  • Typical office duties including answering the phone, filing, data entry, faxing etc. Participate in Sidley sponsored training.
  • Assist PM in achieving sales and other financial targets. Must be able to analyze and understand financial goals/reports.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualification/Requirments:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.  College preferred, but not required. Strong math skills.
  • Position requires confidence and experience in customer facing sales role with professional organizations.
  • Innovative problem solving skills. Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Relates to all customer segments and creates a good first impression.
  • Self-starter capable of delivering on goals with minimal supervision. Quick learner.
  • Strong management skills within a diverse environment. Sense of time management/deadlines.  Decision making ability.
  • Effective oral and written skills.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a motivating positive attitude and winning track record. Industry knowledge and experience helpful.
  • Basic computer skills with an ability and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and willingness to roll up sleeves and get the job done. 
  • Ability and willingness to work as many hours as necessary to accomplish duties.

  • Kneeling - 5%

  • 6 - 10 pounds =20
  • 20 - 50 pounds - 10
